How can I upgrade my iMin device to the latest firmware version?

In order not to affect the your daily business operations, the firmware updates will not take place automatically. You can update the firmware in the Wireless Update application on the homepage of your device by clicking on Check for updates. 

Why can't I power my device after the latest firmware update? Why am I unable to update my firmware version?

If you are unable to turn on your device after an update, please follow the steps below:

1- Hold the power button to force a shutdown if the device freezes. 

2- Turn on the device normally and perform the update again. Please ensure that your network connection is strong.

3- If the problem still persists, please contact iMin for technical support by dropping us a support ticket or emailing us at support@imin.sg

How do I check the current firmware version of my iMin device?

You can do so by opening the Wireless Update application on the homepage of your device. The version of your device will be displayed under Current

Printer

Which codec language does the iMin printer support?

The iMin built-in printer only supports GB18030, which supports English and Chinese languages. The iMin printer will print ????? if the language selected is not English or Chinese. For foreign languages, it is advised to use bitmap printing. You may refer to the iMin SDK.

 

Why can't my built-in printer print / What to do in the event of paper jam / printer lid unable to be opened?

Why can't my software use iMin's built-in printer?

You would have to integrate your software with iMin printer SDK before using. Please refer to the iMin printer SDK

How can I do a test print for my built-in printer?

To conduct a test print, please go to the Diagnosis app and select Printer. Click on Print Test Page.

 

How can I upgrade my printer firmware for my built-in printer?

First, ensure that your printer is loaded with receipt paper.

For D series and S series, please turn off the power from your device and switch off your power source. Then, switch on the power source and power the device again.

For the M series, just restart your device.

After power on, the printer firmware upgrade notification will appear. Do not operate your device while the printer firmware is upgrading. 

Why can't my software detect Bluetooth printer on my iMin device?

This is due to the software printer discovery filter settings that block iMin printer type. Please request for your software developer to change the Bluetooth discovery algorithm in your software. 

How can I check my external printer connectivity when using Lan printing?

You may go to the IP Address using a web browser, and there will be a test print option for you to check your connectivity.

How to print using web-based applications?

To use web-based applications, it will require an additional printer plugin. You may install the iMin printer plugin or RawBT from the iMin Store to trigger the printing. 

How can I check my device printer firmware version?

For D series, S series, M2 Pro and M2 Max, the printer firmware version is available in the Diagnosis app.

For M2-203/203, the printer firmware version is available by going to your Calculator app and typing in .x44. The printer firmware version will be displayed. 

 

Can the built-in printer in my iMin device support Lan printing?

No, your iMin devices can only support USB and Bluetooth printing. 

Is it possible to skip the printing preview when printing using web-based applications?

Users can refer to the iMin JS printing documentation to bypass the printing preview when using the iMin printer plugin. 

How to print a self-test page on external printers?

Firstly, you would have to turn off the printer, then hold the Feed button and turn on the printer again. After turning on, the Error and Paper indication light will turn red. Please release the Feed button after the Paper indication light disappears. The self-test page will print out automatically. 

How can I adjust the iMin built-in printer density?

For D Series

To do so, please locate your Settings. Then, select Printing, followed by Print Density and adjust it according to your needs. 

For M Series

To do so, please locate your Settings. Then, select Built-in Printing, followed by Print Density and adjust it according to your needs. 

App Store

Why can't my iMin device access the app store?

If you encounter this error, please try the following steps:

1- Go to your settings and ensure your date / region / time is correct.

2- If the above are correct and you are still unable to access, please provide the device’s public IP and send it to iMin personnel as your device might be blacklisted due to multiple logins. 

3- Check your current network public IP via: https://whatismyipaddress.com/

How do I install a third-party application on my iMin device if I can't find it in the iMin App Store?

You will have to transfer the APK File to the device using your PC / thumb drive to your Download folder. After transferring, you may go to the Download folder to look for the file and install it onto your device. 

Do iMin devices support Google Play Store?

iMin OS supports Google Play Service. Users can directly install the Google Play Store application from the iMin App Store. 

Why are some devices unable to find certain applications in the iMin App Store?

Applications in the iMin App Store can be blacklisted through the iMin Kit Platform. Please refer to the iMin Kit Platform User Manual under the App List section to add or remove items from the blacklist application. 

Can I restrict the device from installing third party applications?

Our iMin Kit Platform allows you to restrict third party applications from your device. To know more about this configuration, please refer to the iMin Kit Platform User Manual under the Parameter Setting section.

How do I hide my keyboard from displaying on the screen?

There are several applications available in the app market that allow you to do so. You may try to install applications such as Null Keyboard or No Keyboard from Google Play Store.

How do I enable USB debugging on my iMin device?

For M1-301, M2-202 and M2-203:

Go to Settings, select Systems, select About and tap the Build number 5 times or until You are now a developer is shown on your screen. Then, go back to the About page and select the Developer option that will now appear. Select it and enable USB debugging

For D Series, K Series and S Series, go to Settings, select About, and tap Version 5 times or until You are now a developer is shown on your screen. Then, go to the Settings main page, and select the Developer option that will now appear. Select it and enable USB debugging.

For Android 11, go to Settings, select About Device, and tap Build Number 5 times or until You are now a developer is shown on your screen. Then, go back to System in the settings main page, and select the Developer option that will now appear. Select it and enable USB debugging

Why is my iMin device not charging?

If your device is not charging, please follow these steps:

1- Ensure that the charger is an original provided by iMin.

2- Try to swap batteries with another iMin device (If you own any)

3- Try another power socket

4- If the above steps do not resolve your issue, please contact your warranty claim party (refer to iMin Technical support if you purchased directly from iMin) for any after sale support. 

How do I go back to kiosk mode after exiting kiosk mode?

You will have to reopen the application, and it will automatically enter back into kiosk mode. 

How can I initiate remote control using the iMin Remote App?

You can control your device remotely through the iMin Kit Platform. Please refer to the iMin Kit Platform User Manual under the Remote assistance section. 

What do I do if my iMin device crashes?

How do I set / remove a lock screen password?

You may do so by opening your Settings in the homepage, and clicking on Security. Proceed to select Screen lock and choose the desired screen lock method. 

Why does my Wi-Fi show disabled after connecting to a Wi-Fi network?

To solve this, you would have to access your Wi-Fi router settings by going to WLAN settings and selecting Security. Then, change these settings:

1- Band – 2.4 GHz 

2- Encryption – WPA2or lower.

3- IEEE 802.11w / Frame management – None

Why is my customer display flickering / flashing / having no display?

How do I change languages for my iMin device?

You can do so by opening your Settings in the homepage. Select Language & Input, then choose your desired language and move it to the top of the list.
